Should your practice be marketing for you as an associate

If you’re an associate working with a practice, should you be marketing yourself, or should the practice be doing the marketing to get you new patients?

Generally, it is down to the practice to market and bring the patients into the clinic, where some will be assigned to the associate. However, if the associate already has a network of patients they will be taking to the practice, it’s time for negotiation.

In this one-minute clip, Derek explains how as an associate, you should be negotiating your terms with the practice you are working with. This includes the percentage you take for each patient, depending on whether they have been brought to the practice by you or not.

Another point Derek makes is that having all team members, including associates, involved in team meetings will help the practice perform better in general. It adds a sense of unity and will help everybody work together with the same interests in mind.
